Just found out one of my friends isn't coming back next semester

She's one of my best friends at school.
Honestly I'm not surprised. I knew she was in danger of getting kicked out and it didn't seem like she was trying this semester.
I had a class with her and she skipped it a lot and I know she did in at least one other class. For the class we had together she went two weeks without going. I go to a small school with small class sizes. Attendance matters.
I was actually just talking with one of my friends yesterday on if we thought she was coming back.
As I was writing this I found out that she didn't actually get kicked out, she lost her scholarship and her parents can't afford it. There's a chance she can come back.
I hope so.

I was so cocky about college

I thought I was going to do so well. I was so sure that I was going to be on the Dean's List every semester.
Now it's the end of my third semester and I have yet to achieve an A. For the first time in my life I've failed a class. My GPA is the lowest it's ever been. This past semester I struggled in two classes, Italian and Ecology and Evolution. No matter how much I studied I couldn't achieve a good grade. Back in high school I was always at the top of my class. I graduated in the top ten percent of my class. I've never really had to try hard in class.
Now I'm in college and it's completely different. I have to work so hard. It seems like no matter how much I try I can't do well in my classes. Sometimes I actually think that I'm too stupid to go to my school.
I'm going to have to work so hard next semester. I'm currently in danger of loosing one of my scholarships and getting kicked out of my honors program. I know it's still possible to salvage my GPA but it's going to take a lot of work.
I'm scared for my future, I seriously believe that I fucked it up. I hope that any future employer just wants to know my GPA and not actually look at my transcript
